This painting was created over a number of days using a variety of ways of creating texture. The canvas catches the light in differing ways and leaves a different image on the mind.
There was a magnificent beech tree on one of my running routes. It stood proudly on a bend in the track. I used to call this bend Beech Corner and in the autumn looked forward to seeing the tree and running under its branches. Young people burned fires in the trunk of the tree burning into its very soul. The tree being weakened was unable to withstand the gales of the winter and now it lies across the path its branches broken the marvel of its existence ruined. I recreated this painting, it being only white, and added some more texture as I thought of this marvelous treeand its spirit of beauty.
60cm X 80cms
This painting will give inspiration for discussion and make a central point in any room. It will look good on any unpatterned blank or single coloured wall. It would I feel look stunning on a white wall.
