Ask a question about this paintingThis Acrylic Abstract Painting on Canvas, is painted on a box canvas so it is ready to hang. The Colour has been taken round the edges.
This painting was inspired by ancient wall painting and african art. It is a havily textured work. The method used to paint this work involved layers of paint being applied to the textured canvas. Each layer of paint was coated in acrylic gel. On each subsequent layer some of the underlying layer was allowed to show through building up the colours. The effect was to try and make the canvas look aged to fit with the subject matter. After much working the canvas now has an almost leather like look.
This painting took longer to produce than any other painitng I have completed before.
It is approx 39" x 20" and 1" deep.
